Tickets are now on sale at Wigmore Hall for their spring season, and we’re delighted to be presenting Purcell King Arthur on Wednesday 11 February as part of their season ‘Henry Purcell: A Retrospective’.
Joelle Harvey, Mhairi Lawson, Samuel Boden, Nick Pritchard and George Humphries are our soloists as Druids, drunken farmers, Evil Spirits and, in the famous frost scene, a very chilly Cupid.
If you have younger friends and family, join us on Saturday 21 February for an alternative tale of King Arthur. EOC instrumentalists and singers combine with presenter Isabelle Adams for a magical musical story featuring King Arthur, Merlin, Guinevere and England’s Patron Saint, George. This version, using extracts of Purcell’s music from the opera, weaves an alternative tale of King Arthur on an adventure through golden fields, icy forests and epic battles.
Tickets can be booked for both events via the Wigmore Hall website or by calling 020 7935 2141.
