Amadigi recording news

The wait is almost over. Our recording of Handel’s Amadigi will be released on Friday 16 September. Read on for more on the recording, its release and a reminder of how donors helped bring it to life!

The story so far

Back in September 2021 we told you about our plan to record Handel’s Amadigi for Chandos Records. With your help, alongside grants from the Continuo Foundation and several trusts, we raised the money we needed to go ahead.

Sopranos Anna Dennis and Mary Bevan joined mezzo Hilary Summers, countertenor Tim Mead, Christian and the players of Early Opera Company in St Jude-on-the-Hill, Hampstead, across five days in December to make the recording.

We’re thrilled to announce that the full CD will be released on 16 September. If you can’t wait that long, three sample tracks will be available via some streaming services, starting from today!

Release of tracks and CD

From today you can pre-order the CD from Chandos

Also from today, you can stream the aria ‘Sussurrate, onde vezzose’, featuring Tim Mead.

Further streaming release dates:

  • 19 August: duet ‘Crudel, tu non farai’
