Following our performance of Rameau’s Platée last year, we’re thrilled to bring another passionate and bold French baroque opera to St John’s Smith Square. Rameau’s Castor et Pollux is an intense tale of brotherly love and sacrifice as the immortal Pollux descends to the Underworld to rescue his mortal twin Castor. Musically, Rameau was a revolutionary, and the harmonic effects and sonorous string sounds will bring a rich intensity to this remarkable venue.
