Oliver Webber

Oliver Webber has been at the forefront of baroque violin performance and research for over twenty years; his work on gut strings, violin- and bow-holds and ornamentation has contributed to keeping the historical approach of many ensembles fresh. The music, language and culture of seventeenth century Italy is a particular passion: this informs his work at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, where in addition to teaching baroque violin and viola, he works with singers on ornamentation and poetry in the music of Monteverdi and his contemporaries.
