Join us for this concert performance of story of the doomed love of the shepherd Acis and the sea-nymph Galatea, whose pastoral idyll is shattered by the arrival of the one-eyed giant, Polyphemus. Refusing to yield Galatea, Acis is crushed to death by the giant. The grief-stricken Galatea uses her divine powers to turn his body into a stream, thus granting him immortality.
