Almeida Theatre: Greeks – Médée Furieuse

October 4, 2015

This event has passed.

Throughout history the story of Medea has fascinated composers, never more so than in France in the 17th and 18th centuries.

Reflecting Almeida Theatre’s new production of Euripides’ seminal tragedy ‘Medea’ (dir Rupert Goold), we are joined by mezzo soprano Ciara Hendrick to perform Bernier’s cantata ‘Médée’ and excerpts from Charpentier’s magnificent opera of the same name.

We’re delighted to team up with Almeida Theatre’s Greeks Festival as we journey through the French baroque to take on this most dangerous of divas.
